IMPORTANT UPDATE 16th Dec 2022
We are currently experiencing unprecedented levels of demand at the surgery, and this is having an impact on dispensing times. Please be mindful that your prescription may take longer than the usual 5 working day turnaround time. Be assured that you will be sent a text message as soon as your script is ready to collect from the surgery dispensary. Thank you for your understanding.
Please be advised that from the 1st February 2023, the dispensary phone and main reception will no longer be taking orders for repeat prescriptions. Wherever possible please use online services or the NHS App to request your repeat medication. Please see full details here. You can also still drop your paper repeat slip into one of the posting boxes at the surgery.
Please do not direct Dispensary queries via reception. Thank you
Ordering a repeat prescription
REMINDER – allow 5 working days for our dispensary to process prescriptions – please note this does not include weekends. You will receive a text message when your prescription is ready to collect. Please do not call or visit the surgery before this time unless your medication is urgently needed. This has a delaying effect for other patients.
In person - There is a post box situated outside the main entrance of Reception and on the Dispensary wall, please place your repeat form or a note with your request including your name, address, date of birth and contact details.
Online - You can download the NHS app via your app store or log in online. This will give you access to ordering your repeat medication online. If you have previously been given access, you can log into Systmonline to order your prescription.
Automatic repeat ordering – for some patients we can pre-order your next month’s medication at dispensary so you do not need to contact us each month. Please enquire at Dispensary about this.
When arriving at Dispensary
We are no longer operating the traffic light system.
Please note the Dispensary entrance is sometimes used for access for other patients seeing clinical staff.
Helperby surgery is open 13.30pm – 16.30pm Tuesdays and Thursdays for prescription collections.
Burton Leonard Post Office
Burton Leonard post office is now providing a service for prescription collection. Please enquire with dispensary for more details.
There is a regular weekly delivery of prescriptions to the village shop in Great Ouseburn for patients in the village and surrounding area.
The delivery is made by one of the surgery dispensary team who will also collect any repeat prescription request slips for medication to be delivered the following week.
Patients who are wishing to register for this service should complete a consent form (obtainable from the village shop or dispensary) and hand it in at the village shop or the dispensary. Please note we can not accept verbal or online requests for registration.
We would like to thank the staff at the village shop for their help and co-operation.
We know these are difficult times, but please show consideration to our Dispensary staff and Reception staff when they are dealing with your queries. We are trying our best to help you and continue to provide the best service to patients during this time.
